sometimes when you do something different the outcome can be positive. like in here. In DA we all used to seeing portraits of people and children with the focus is mainly on the eyes of their facial expression, but in here you chose to deviate and capture it with no expression at all, figuratively speaking. The composition here is superb. sharpness is very tack. the whole theme actually fits sadness more than spontaneity , but we all have to agree with your point of you because it is you who decides that.

there is something about the monochromatic effect in here. in my opinion, having this even highlights and shadows makes the image kind of look flat to me. Monochromatic images (or single colored images) must make the viewer think of the content and concept rather than anything else, so I think that a little bit of a raising highlights in here would achieve that.
